Stress, HRV
and your body

read every morning from your wearable

Stress and tinnitus often turn up together, and your body keeps a record of the days in between: the HRV that dipped, the resting heart rate that crept up, the recovery that never came. TinnitusMe collects those numbers from a connected wearable, Apple Health or Health Connect, and tests each one against your spikes.

why your body?

In 658 app users, stress level partly explained how a louder tinnitus turned into more distress.

What is collected

HRV, resting heart rate, recovery, strain, stress index, steps, time in high heart rate zones, respiratory rate, SpO2, skin temperature, weight, body fat, blood pressure and blood glucose, whichever your source provides. Garmin, Oura, Polar and WHOOP connect directly; Apple Watch, Fitbit, Samsung and most other devices come in through Apple Health or Health Connect.

Stress, two ways

If your source is Garmin or Oura, the stress number is the one your device worked out. Otherwise TinnitusMe computes a stress index each morning from your HRV and resting heart rate against your own two-week baseline, which needs both of them. You never rate your stress. If a moment was stressful, tap the trigger called Stress spike.

The body things only you notice

Neck or jaw tension and clenching or grinding are manual triggers, one tap each, because no wearable sees them. Stress high and low, recovery high and low, steps high and low, high heart rate zones, blood pressure and blood glucose are collected and tested against your spikes like everything else.

Where it lives in the app

Monitor and then Physical Health: today's numbers at the top, then recovery, HRV, resting heart rate, strain, SpO2, skin temperature, respiratory rate, high heart rate zones and steps, with your spikes laid over the history. Stress shows on the Cognitive card in Monitor, next to noise and, on Android, screen time.

What it needs from you

A connected source for the body numbers. Garmin, Oura, Polar and WHOOP connect in Connections; Apple Watch and anything writing to Apple Health or Health Connect arrives that way. The app reads HRV and resting heart rate, it does not measure them, and the stress index needs both. Today's numbers are on the free app; the history graph is part of Premium.

Questions

Which wearables work?

Garmin, Oura, Polar and WHOOP connect directly in Connections. Apple Watch and anything else that writes to Apple Health on iPhone, or Health Connect on Android, comes in from there.

Is HRV measured by the app itself?

No. HRV and resting heart rate come from your connected source. The app reads them, it does not measure them.

Do I need a wearable?

No. Without one you still get weather, the noise around you, food, and on Android screen time and sleep timing. A wearable adds HRV, resting heart rate, recovery, stress and sleep stages.
