It finds your
patterns

your loud days, next to your quiet ones

Insights compares everything the app collected with the spikes you logged. It answers three questions with statistics rather than hunches: what was different around your spikes, what worked when you used it, and what is already going right on your days with no spike. You open it when you want to; nothing is pushed unless you switch on the one optional notification, New pattern found.

why your own history?

Repeated check-ins from 306 users showed that the more someone's mood swung, the more closely rises in loudness went with rises in distress.

What Happened

For each factor the engine compares the days around your spikes with your other days, with Fisher's exact test for things that happen or not and a t-test for measured numbers, looks at a few days of lag, and corrects for the number of tests it runs. Collected factors read as two averages, for example sleep score around your spikes against your other days. Things you only note now and then are shown as a share of your spikes, because there is no fair day-by-day comparison for them.

A card called Your triggers sorts every factor into one of three verdicts: strong link, some link, or no link found. On the Patterns card under it, dots show confidence: three dots is the strongest statistical signal. A link is not a cause, and the app says so on the screen.

Loud days and combinations

The Loud days card counts the days your phone measured clearly louder than your usual and shows whether they went with your spikes. Combinations lists the pairs that went together with your louder days more than either did alone.

What Worked, What Strengthens You

What Worked gives every medicine and relief one of four verdicts: works well, some help, no clear effect, or not enough yet, with the reason underneath. It is your own log read back to you, not a measure of the drug. What Strengthens You is the positive side: consistent sleep, calm stress, steady caffeine and the other habits that turn up on your days with no spike. Nothing on it warns or judges.

What changed, and the rest

What changed sets the last 30 days against the 30 before for every trigger, medicine and relief. How Did It Impact You shows your loudness spread, what tends to run worse and what you missed. What Were You Doing is a tally of the activities and places you tagged. Monitor holds a history graph for each group, sleep, body, environment and diet, where you pick the numbers to plot.

Where it lives in the app

Insights. The Full Report sits at the top, then Recommendations and What Happened. What Happened opens with Your triggers, then Patterns, Loud days, Combinations and What These Triggers Do to You. Beside it are What Worked, What Strengthens You, What changed, What Were You Doing, How Did It Impact You, the recommendations and the Full Report. Monitor holds a history graph for each group, sleep, body, environment and diet, where you pick the numbers to plot.

What it needs from you

At least three logged spikes before the engine can compare anything; findings firm up with more. What it reports is correlation, stated as correlation, and it waits until you open it. The one notification, New pattern found, is off unless you switch it on. Insights is part of Premium.

Questions

How many spikes does it need?

At least three before it can compare your spike days with anything, and findings firm up as more come in. Part of What Strengthens You, the habits that feed each other, shows up before that.

Is it correlation or causation?

Correlation, stated as correlation. The app tells you whether a factor went with your spikes and how strongly, and leaves the judgement to you and your audiologist or doctor.

Is Insights free?

Insights is part of Premium: What Happened, What Worked, What Strengthens You, What changed, What Were You Doing, How Did It Impact You, the tests worth running and the Full Report.
